On Tuesday, July 22, we closed on the sale of our house in Lewisville, Texas, and the movers brought the rest of our worldly possessions to Liberty. We thank the Lord for bringing that to pass and are glad to have that behind us at last. Six months is long enough to be moving from one place to another. Thanks to all of you who have prayed for us.
The weekend before we said our final goodbyes to Lewisville, we —along with several First Liberty members — were in North Texas for a Country Church Conference which took place at Southfork Country Church in Parker. First Liberty is praying about starting a church using the country church model. Each of us from TRBA won door prizes at the event, as you can see in the picture. As associational leaders have begun planning for 2015, we have gotten excited about the possibility of developing a “church planting pipeline” designed to produce new churches. The pipeline will bring together men called by God, churches led by God to plant other churches, and people loved by God.
We will share more about this “church planting pipeline” later, but, for now, please begin praying that God will:
(1) call to ministry men in our churches,
(2) lead our churches to have a desire to start new churches, and
(3) open our eyes to see the unchurched people in our communities who desperately need Jesus and are not being reached by any of our existing churches.
If you are the senior pastor of one of our churches, I invite you to join me from 9 to 10 a.m. each Thursday for a focused prayer time on the mission of our churches and our association. Our first meeting will be on Aug. 28.
Praying to the Lord of the Harvest,
