I have often said that each of our 41 churches is unique and necessary.  God has planted each church just where it is for a reason and plans to use each church in His plan to redeem the world.
It  is also true that TRBA is a unique and necessary part of God’s plan.

There are some things that we can do better together than any of our churches could do alone.  And when we do things together we are demonstrating that we are more than a bunch of individual churches; we are a family of churches committed to Christ, committed to one another, and committed to our community.
For example, when TRBA provided a meal and tents to the Red Cross shelter in Liberty last month, they learned that there was a group of 41 Southern Baptist churches in this area that care about people and want to help in times of crisis.
When our mission team goes to Rochester, Minn., this month, the church they help knows the team represents not just one or two churches, but 41 churches partnering with them for five years.

Church to church connections
When two or more of our churches work together, it multiplies their effectiveness.
That’s true when churches join together for a DiscipleNow weekend (such as First Dayton and Calvary Dayton do each year) and when one church helps another staff their VBS (such as Trinity Dayton is doing with Smith Point Community).
As an association, we work together to staff the Family Visitors’ Center at the prison complex and the Bible studies at the Liberty County Jail.
All of our churches work together to provide for Wild Country’s annual clothing give-away (bring your donations to the TRBA office before July 29).

Shared resources
Our 41 churches benefit from associational resources such as Bible study materials and copier services.  As an association we are able to train men called by God through our weekly Pastor Essentials Class.  Eight graduated last year and 17 are enrolled in this year’s class.
TRBA’s new Block Party Trailer will be available free of charge to any of our churches to conduct an evangelistic outreach event.  (Donations will be accepted to help with maintenance and upkeep.)  I hope all 41 of our churches take advantage of this great resource.

Let’s work together on these events
Two major TRBA events are coming soon: the Men Alive Outdoor Expo, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 27, and the First Responders Appreciation Breakfast, 6:30-8:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 9. Each of these is a great opportunity to show our Christian unity to our lost community.
To participate in either or both, please call (936-336-9232) or email me ( today.

Working together with all of you,
David Williams
