Donna Kay and I had a great experience at the Lone Star Motorcycle Rally in Galveston, Nov. 6-8.   I’ll have to admit that I had my reservations about joining the crowd of 400,000 most of whom were bikers, but we were drawn by the anticipation of being able to lead people to Jesus.  We were not disappointed.

Thursday morning we began with a time of training led by evangelist Ronnie Hill.  He coached us on how to most effectively tell our own three-minute story of how Jesus had changed our lives.
At 10 a.m. we opened the booth.  Some of us stood out front asking people to come in and register for the $1,000 drawing.  Others waited under the tent, ready to share with any who were willing to come in to register.
It was amazing how many people walked into the tent and listened to our stories.  By the end of the three days our 32 volunteers had shared with 1,060 people and 399 of them had trusted Jesus as Savior and Lord.
Next week we will begin calling each person we won to Christ to follow up with them and encourage them to get involved in a Bible believing, Bible teaching church.
We will be going back next November and our biggest need will be more volunteers.  Please mark your calendars right now and plan to go with us Nov. 5-7, 2015.
If you are hesitant to go, let me encourage you with two words: “Fear Not!”
Don’t be afraid of the crowds.  Don’t be afraid of the bikers.  Don’t worry about how you will get there, where you will park, how you will find the booth, what you will wear, what you will eat, or what you will say when a stranger walks up to you ready to hear your story.
You do not need to be afraid.  You do not need to worry.  Going to the rally is easier than going to Six Flags.
The Lord will be with you.  He will guide you.  He will watch over you.  He will give you the words to say.
And by the time you go home you will have shared your personal testimony with dozens of people and seen some of them come to Christ.
Come for the whole event and take advantage of free lodging in a church and free breakfast and dinner provided by a disaster relief feeding unit.  Or drive down for the day.  Or drive down and work one shift, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 2-7 p.m.
But come.  I am counting on a dozen volunteers from TRBA working each shift next year.  The more volunteers we have, the more people will come to Jesus.
It’s like a mission trip, but it’s only an hour and a half away from home.
Think about this: Donna Kay and I shared Christ with more people and saw more people saved than we would normally be able to in an entire year.
There were more people saved those three days than all of our TRBA churches baptized all of last year, three times as many saved in all of our Vacation Bible Schools.
I want you to have a part in this next year.  Commit to it now and calendar it now.  All you have to do is tell people what your life used to be like before you met Jesus, how you came to know Jesus, and how your life has been different since meeting Jesus.
Then you tell them that they can have the same kind of change you have experienced, right here and right now.
And when they begin to nod their head and say, “Yes, I’d like to pray that prayer,” you will be so thankful you took the time and took the risk to be involved in Mission Lone Star.

Risking for the Kingdom,
David Williams
